If you are facing some trouble to get connected to the internet in windows 10? if yes, then you are at the right place. So here i am sharing you some tips to solve the network issues in windows OS.
The first thing is you should make sure that the problem is not with the ISP( internet service provider). If it is contact your ISP. You can check the step i mentioned below whether the problem is with the ISP
- Open command prompt (search cmd in search box) , and type ipconfig
- Now you can see Default gateway address, something like 'Default gateway..... :192.168.1.1'
- Just note down this ip address and at the prompt type ping <Default gateway> , For example ping 192.168.1.1 and press enter
- If the ping is successful then you can see the result something like this
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64
Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 4ms, Maximum = 5ms, Average = 4ms
- Ping is successful but then also you cant connect to the internet, there may be a problem with the modem or ISP
Second thing you should check the physical connection between computer and network devices. make sure that power and all the network connections are proper.
3) Update the network adaptor driver
An outdated or incompatible network adaptor driver cause connection problem. So you should make sure that the network adaptor driver is up to date. follow the steps for updating the network driver.
- In the search box type Device manager and Enter
- In device manager select network adaptor (if it is not listed then check in the other devices.
- Right click on the network adaptor and click update driver software
- Now you can see two options, 1) search automatically for updated driver software and 2) Brows my computer for driver software
- If you click the first option, then the computer automatically search for the available latest drives and you can install them.
- If you click the second option , then you need to download the driver software from internet, and choose the location and install it.
- After you have updated the driver, restart your computer and check whether the network issue fixed or not.
3) Temporarily turn off firewall
Sometime firewall software might prevent getting connected. So you can turn off the firewall for a while and brows any website you trust. so you can get an idea whether the problem is with the firewall or not.
4) Temporarily tern off Antivirus
Sometimes the antivirus cause the connection issue. so you can turn off the antivirus and try to login any webpage. if its working then the problem is with the antivirus. you can solve this issue by updating the antivirus or you can contact the manufacture.
