1) Check ISP (internet service provider) connection

The first thing is you should make sure that the problem is not with the ISP( internet service provider). If it is contact your ISP. You can check the step i mentioned below whether the problem is with the ISP
  • Open command prompt (search cmd in search box) , and type ipconfig
  • Now you can see Default gateway address, something like 'Default gateway..... :'
  • Just note down this ip address and at the prompt type ping <Default gateway> , For example ping and press enter
  • If the ping is successful then you can see the result something like this

Reply from bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64

Reply from bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64

Reply from bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64

Reply from bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 4ms, Maximum = 5ms, Average = 4ms
  • Ping is successful but then also you cant connect to the internet, there may be a problem with the modem or ISP
2) Check the physical connection

Second thing you should check the physical connection between computer and network devices. make sure that power and all the network connections are proper.

  • If you click the second option , then you need to download the driver software from internet, and choose the location and install it.
